Monday November 4, on the set of “Quotidien”, the actress Sara Forestier spoke, very moved, about the traumatic experience which made her stay away from film sets for three years.
Come to ensure the promotion of Three Friends by Emmanuel Mouret on the set of Dailyalongside her partners Camille Cottin and India Hair, Sara Forestier was questioned about her long absence from the cinema. The video of his response (below) has since sparked significant interest on social media. Known for her frankness, the actress then returned to a traumatic event in her career, which occurred in 2017. “I needed to take a few years to rebuild myself”, she begins “I was hit by an actor on a film, I was slapped and I left the film”.
The actress refers here to a violent altercation which allegedly took place between her and Nicolas Duvauchelle, on the set of the film Good man by Marion Vernoux. At the time, several media outlets reported the incident, but the broadcast version reported an attack by Sara Forestier towards the actor. She clarified the facts in 2021, in an interview with Paris Matchthen later withdrew from film sets.
A glimmer of hope through a caring project
On the set of DailySara Forestier denounced a cinema which often qualifies “fdamaged women” of “crazy”. “Trauma is not something that is taken into account in cinema”, she explained. Then, her face lit up as she spoke of her return to the cinema with Emmanuel Mouret, while she sought to “rediscover the pleasure”. “I really waited to find a project with caring people. And that's what happened on this film […] This is really how we should make cinema”, she concluded.
