This is one of the new features of this 25th edition of the Festival of Lights in Lyon. Access to the Tête d’Or park will be modified to manage the influx of the public more effectively.
The Tête d’Or park is one of the particularly busy places during the Festival of Lights in Lyon. This year, for this 25th edition which takes place from December 5 to 8, the city has modified the access plan to make the passage more fluid.
Entrance will no longer be from the Porte des Enfants du Rhône but from the Tête d’Or entrance located along Boulevard des Belges, facing Rue Tête d’Or.
The first deputy mayor of Lyon admits at the microphone of BFM Lyon that crowd management was difficult last year.
“Last year, it’s true that we stuck to a pattern that we had had for several years with an entrance at the Porte des Enfants du Rhône but there were a lot of people,” recalled Audrey Hénocque.
The municipality notes the growing success of the event every year. “I think that more and more people in Lyon are keen to spend an evening dedicated to the Tête d’Or park.”
The Anookis visible from the queue
The five works exhibited in the park of the 6th arrondissement were placed in such a way as to guarantee better flow of the public.
“Visitors will be able to see the work of the Anookis on this portion of the queue and then, they will be able to discover four other works designed to be seen very easily while wandering around without needing to stand still to see a loop, like This is the case on other projects such as Place des Terreaux, normally, it should be much more fluid,” adds the elected official.
The park will be open all four evenings. It will close its doors at 10 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On Sunday evening, doors will be closed from 9 p.m.
The Porte des Enfants du Rhône will remain in use during the event to ensure access for people with disabilities.
