The puppets come on stage in Guilers. The Les Mains en l’air festival opens this Wednesday, November 6 and will end on Sunday. Five days dedicated to the art of puppetry, punctuated by the presentation of nine shows imagined by eight companies.

Around fifteen sessions are on the program, all offered at the Jean-Mobian space, except for the show Dystopian fantasies presented on November 8 in Brest as part of a partnership with La Maison du théâtre and Le Quartz.

New things

This seventh edition, concocted by the City of Guilers and the Marionnettique collective, is enriched with new features. This year, the big show presented on the main stage is dedicated to object theater: So much the worse for King Kong, a story of friendship between a woman and gorillas. The festival is more open to young audiences and teenagers with sessions reserved for schools.

And manufacturing workshop and puppet manipulation will even be specially organized for children on Sunday at 2 p.m. It will be hosted by Quebecers Jeanne Lauzier and Fanny Tousignant. The two artists, supported by the Ouf Festival de Montréal, will present their creation the day before, The house that works.

An open-stage cabaret

A puppet aperitif will close the festival (at 6:15 p.m., free entry). In this cabaret in open stage mode, the festival artists will put on the show and the public will be invited to come on stage.
