Selena Gomez opened up on TikTok about her state of health. To the already provided list of his illnesses, the young star must add unpleasant intestinal disorders.
The singer defends herself after being the subject of comments about her body.
Last week, the 32-year-old actress walked the red carpet at the premiere of her new film “Emilia Pérez” in Los Angeles, as part of the French Film Festival of America.
In several photos from the event, Selena Gomez can be seen covering her stomach with her hand, prompting commenters to wonder if she was hiding her body. The star has since taken to TikTok to respond to criticism regarding her weight.
“This makes me sick,” she said in a now-deleted comment. “I have SIBO in my small intestine. There are flare-ups.”
The “Only Murders in the Building” actress continued, “I don’t care if I don’t look like a twig. I don’t have this body. End of story. No, I am NOT a victim. I’m just human.”
SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) is a disorder related to excessive bacterial growth in the small intestine. This condition can cause symptoms such as bloating, gas, and abdominal pain.
The “Lose You to Love Me” singer has spoken openly about her health struggles in the past, having been diagnosed with lupus in 2013 and undergoing a kidney transplant in 2017. The star recently revealed that she could not get pregnant due to her “medical issues”.
“I unfortunately (…) have a lot of medical problems that would put my life and that of the baby in danger. “It’s something I had to grieve for a while,” Selena Gomez told “Vanity Fair” in September.
