In waiting rooms, homes, schools, offices… Since 2004, the small and large drawings in acrylic and Indian ink on Plexiglas by Katia Marchiori and Bruno Le Boulengé bring their little touch of art and reflection to quantity of interiors. In Liège and beyond. Twenty years after having imagined and launched what is both a gallery and a store, its two designers announce that they will cease the activity.
“These last few years have been an ordeal for us, following the tram project, but have also, by necessity, been an opportunity for deep questioning. We have decided to permanently close the store on April 3. After which, we will take a few months of rest, of reflection to prepare a new project, a new adventure planned for the fall of 2025. We have 6 months left, during which we will give the best of ourselves to offer you something brighten up your interiors.”
It’s not that the concept had lost its potential. If the duo talks about their difficulties (a loss of turnover of -70%), they are above all lucid. “Many commercial activities have moved to the outskirts of Liège and a certain clientele no longer feels obliged to come to Liège. We want to recreate another friendly, local activity, more suited to an urban clientele. By not relying on a classic catchment“, says Bruno.
But there is no question of leaving the pedestrian area of Neuvice… which this friendly boutique has helped to revitalize. Bruno and Katia remain attached to this link between the historic heart and still intend to contribute to giving it a little extra soul.
