The Arts & Culture biennial organized by Courants d’Art ended last Sunday on a colorful note. Despite the challenges encountered, the event was able to honor the theme of major arts thanks to careful preparation. Jean-Michel Roques, president of the Courants d’Art association, congratulates the more than 30 volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this festival a success.

The inauguration of the festival, Thursday morning, was marked by the presence of four elected officials and a large crowd at the Loft, rue Lamartine. The same evening, the film “Anatomy of a Fall” attracted many spectators to the cinema, as did Louis Mercadié’s conference the next day at the media library. The evening on Place Jean Jaurès, new for this 2024 edition, despite exceptional performances by the Cor d’Omes men’s choir and the Cosmo Show, suffered from a lack of audience, partly due to the coolness of the evening . The spectators present were delighted, and it is rumored that the troupe will return to Capdenac for an indoor performance.

The collective fresco and dance performance by 3move at the Agora were highly appreciated, as was the theatrical performance by the Récréations troupe, which received unanimous praise.

The highlight of this festival was Sunday with Les Arts sur la Rive at Square Baulès. The many artists present and the musical entertainment by Kathleen Biaz delighted the visitors. The weather, although threatening, made it possible to maintain the planned outdoor events.

As the President of the association recalls, “this festival was made possible thanks to the commitment of Courants d’Art volunteers, the support of the City of Capdenac-Gare, technical services, financial partners, and sponsors… A big thank you to everyone who helped make this edition a memorable success.”
