Philippe Katerine, eccentric artist? This is the observation that a journalist from The Sunday Tribune to the main person concerned during a long interview during which Julie Depardieu's companion acquiesces, not without explaining himself. “I have no problem with being called an eccentric singer, he notes. If I don't bore people, that's not bad. What interests me is to offer a different, offbeat angle, even if we only retain the fanciful or clownish side.“Last fad in sight for the artist who created a buzz during the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games: making a documentary of his funeral… with his own style!

Philippe Katerine planned his funeral

Certain that the end of life and the resulting ceremony has its place in his career plan, Philippe Katerine reveals have planned everything regarding his final farewell to his audience. His funeral will take place in the form of a documentary. “It's called The Movie That Makes You Want to Die, declares the singer in the weekly. The foot is what connects to the Earth. This is also my great weakness, because I have a lot of cracks in my feet, to the point where I can read the future.”

Certain of the assured success of his film obituary, Philippe Katerine underlines the great sadness of the funerary monuments in cemeteries, all of the same shape, the same color… The same marble. “No law exists to restrict graves to three colors, notes the son-in-law of Gérard Depardieu in the columns of The Sunday Tribune. I opt for pink and blue. Pink because it is a mixture of blood and milk. Blue, because it’s azure.” This azure which covered – already – the entirety of his body in front of 2 billion viewers on this famous July 26, 2024 during the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. A color which visibly brings him luck…
