Saturday November 9, 2024, the opening of this painting exhibition will be chaired by Captain Marc Bourdilleau, commander of the Naval Air Base in Landivisiau (Finistère). More than a hundred artists, amateurs and professionals are expected and will begin to bring their paintings to town hall.

New talents will be present and all techniques will be offered: acrylic and oil on canvas, pastel, watercolor, engraving, collage…

Gastronomy in photos

The show integrated photography in 2017 in a specific competition initiated by Franco-Australian patron Yves Hernot. This year, the theme will be “gastronomy”. The one who has accompanied the Salon du Léon since 2012 has already been leaving for Landivisiau for a few days, with a few breaks with friends from various countries.

Isabelle D’Arboussier, 2023 winner, will share the hall of honor at the town hall with the Landivisien Lucky Méar, renowned jeweler and guest of honor of this 2024 edition, who does not just shine thanks to the precious stones and with precious metals, but also explores painting through a superb palette of colors. He also organized a gallery in his store on Place de l’Église.

Self-guided visits

The members of the jury will award a grand prize of €1,200 to the winner, with the possibility of a personal exhibition during the 2025 edition. But also a prize from the festival committee (€450), a Landi Commerces prize (€200) , prizes from the BSA and Bideford twinning committees (€120 each), as well as three mentions (€60).

Patron Yves Hernot will award a hope prize for the painting section to those under 35 (€1,000), an Encouragement prize (€500), as well as a Grand prize for photography (€500) and three support prizes ( 100 €) for this same discipline.

The public and school visitors will also be able to award their own prize. Free visits during office hours as well as Saturdays (morning and afternoon) and Sunday afternoons.

Léon Painting Fair, Landivisiau town hall, from Saturday November 9 to Sunday December 15, 2024.
