the essential
The Deux Rives Ehpad in Valence d’Agen (Tarn-et-Garonne) celebrated Halloween in a warm atmosphere, where residents and visitors shared creativity, games and memories. A great opportunity to show that age is not an obstacle to celebrating!
At the Center Hospitalier des Deux Rives, in Valence d’Agen (Tarn-et-Garonne), Halloween promised a magical moment of sharing and inventiveness. Contrary to the popular belief that our elders would be withdrawn from the festivities, they ultimately took to the game with enthusiasm!
The festivities started with a scarecrow competition, orchestrated by the establishment’s entertainment service. For this unique initiative, schools, associations, individuals and staff were invited to create scarecrows. As a result, fifteen wonderful creations, combining imagination and creativity, were born. The scarecrows were installed in the park of the Center Hospitalier des Deux Rives, where they came to life among the golden leaves of autumn.
Families and passers-by were able to discover our friendly scarecrows: Marguerite the florist, Gus the tough one, Maxime the joker, Martine the spirited one, and of course, the enigmatic witch. These colorful characters illuminated the park and energized intergenerational exchanges.
Tuesday, October 29, on a beautiful autumn afternoon, the residents of the nursing home played judges, awarding scores to the scarecrows on display. A warm moment where our elders were able to voice their preferences in this fun competition. The results revealed some surprises and made it possible to establish a ranking of scarecrows, which everyone was impatiently awaiting.
Elders distributed candy
On Wednesday October 30, 2024, the nursing home opened its doors to everyone, offering a series of small games for children. The atmosphere was festive! Residents of the establishment came to distribute candies and sweets, adding a touch of sweetness to this day.
To cap off this festive event, the winners of the scarecrow competition were announced to the general public. Enthusiasm, laughter and community spirit enhanced this Halloween celebration, illustrating once again that age is just a number, while curiosity and joie de vivre have no age.
