Near Fécamp, the village of Sassetot-le-Mauconduit invested by a collective of artists

Until fall 2025, the artists’ collegiate Nous, singuliers is offering residents of Sassetot-le-Mauconduit the opportunity to participate in a participatory artistic project around the theme of “Memories”.

Serge Delaune had already created a collective of artists in the 2000s in Fécamp. In the spring of 2024 he brought together 11 Norman artists around the Nous, singulars collegiate church. “It came to fruition thanks to a meeting with Éric Scarano, the mayor of Sassetot. Who wanted his village to continue to invest in art around a new project, with the participation of the inhabitants. This is how the idea of bringing together the We, Singulars collegiate around “Memories” was born.. » And to involve residents, businesses, schools and seniors’ residences in a long-term interactive artistic project around workshops open to all, meetings and public interventions, visual installations and sound, exhibitions and performances.

“What time and the earth will have remembered”

The project runs until November 2025. Ginou Lebreton, an enlightened art lover, acts as the “external eye” of the college and takes care of communication. She accompanied these ladies and gentlemen from the Les Pâquerettes residence to the first exhibition of Nous, singulars in April and posts new information every day on social networks. Julien Desharbes led workshops at the school, Rose DeSables, Serge Delaune and Nicolette Moya, at Les Pâquerettes. “Great experience. I learned what kaoudé, the harvest festival, was. Based on their memories, the participants – from 63 to 100 years old! – created drawings, pen paintings and haiku, which will be exhibited from November 12 in a place specially designed by Aurélien, the host”enthuses Rose DeSables.
