Saturday, November 2, on the stage of the Orléans theater, Svetlana Andreeva won the final of the sixteenth edition of the Orléans International Piano Competition.
The 35-year-old Ukrainian pianist beat the South African Leo Gevisser and the Japanese Misora Ozaki. She attracted the favor of the jury, chaired by Wilhem Latchoumia (winner of the Orléans competition in 2006) during a free program where she played the innovation card with a piece recorded alongside her performance.
A concert, in Paris, Monday November 4
The afternoon began with the interpretation by the three finalists of the first movement of Vortex temporum by Gérard Grisey, with the intercontemporary ensemble conducted by Léo Margue. A warm-up for experienced ears with regard to experimental dissonances. On the third listen, the chords were a little softer to listen to. As for the string score, it certainly attracts attention.
Before the final, Saturday, meeting with Wilhem Latchoumia, president of the jury of the Orléans international piano competition
This final does not mark the end of the adventure for the three finalists. Monday evening, in Paris, they will be on the Bouffes du Nord stage, from 8 p.m., with the intercontemporary ensemble. A new opportunity to show their talent.
