the essential
From June 10 to 23, the sculpture festival occupies the city. A rich and varied program with exhibitions, conferences, artist performances, on-site discovery day on Saturday June 22 at Espace Bourdelle.

For more than 20 years, the Bourdelle Sculpture space (school-workshop for the practice of sculpture and multidisciplinary dissemination) has placed the arts of space and material on broader paths by relying on the exemplarity of the Montalbanese artist Émile-Antoine Bourdelle.

Open to the general public and schools, this festival is a translation of the vitality and diversity of sculpture. From figuration to abstraction, from minimalism to realism and in the diversity of materials, professional sculptors and workshop practitioners will exhibit works linked to the theme “Dreams of the Earth…”.

A dream relieves, rests, soothes, and they will take us from one universe to another in a set of current creations from our region.

This year, the festival will feature more than 60 professional and amateur sculptors gathered at five exhibition venues. More than 200 works exhibited, a Sculpture In Situ day with artist meetings, demonstrations, installations, performances…

Tixa Tixador will be the guest of honor. Like a movement of continuous creation, it brings us back to the origins, to the earth, matter and mother of all things. A painter-sculptor, she chose to make paintings with stone and pigments. Her works have a unity, look at each other like turning the pages of a book, she transfigures what is deepest in us, this intimate feeling of fragility of things and beings. She will present her latest work “Bourdelle a lesson in nature”.
