Since the terrible Hamas attack of October 7, 2023 causing the death of more than 1,100 Israelis, mainly civilians, and the hostage-taking of 252 people, of whom 121 are still detained by Hamas, the inhabitants of Gaza have suffered daily bombardments . A few days ago, two refugee camps were targeted in Rafah and we have images in our minds that keep us up at night. Yet, despite international outcry, Israel continues the massacre.

More than 35,000 deaths have been counted, these figures are underestimated according to several sources. Two million people are threatened with famine.

The escalation of violence seems like it will never stop.

We are witnessing a genocide in real time, filmed, documented, taking place on our screens daily and in the face of which many of us feel helpless.

The time is no longer for debate, it is for action.

How many deaths will it take for France to take a clear and humanist position? How many crimes against humanity?

Spain, Ireland and Norway have taken the path of human dignity by officially recognizing the State of Palestine, joining the 143 countries which officially recognize the existence of a Palestinian State. But France, country of human rights, country of Enlightenment, still does not speak out.

We, artists, content creators, public figures and citizens, with our differences but also these ties that unite us, we join our voices to tell the world that we recognize the existence of the State of Palestine, not only in response to current massacre, but in the name of the right of this people to exist.

Today, we appeal to the President of the Republic to ask for this recognition. Let’s not go against history. Let’s not be in the shame camp.

Our voice, our solidarity, can make the difference.

Long live justice, long live peace, long live free Palestine.
