Many Britons saw their dreams shattered in April 2023 when the Grosvenor family announced the news: “The Duke of Westminster and Miss Olivia Henson are delighted to announce that they have become engaged.” Hugh Grosvenor, 33, who had been called “the most prominent bachelor in England”, was therefore officially no longer free. A very nice match that many young women would have happily got their hands on.

In addition to showing off a pretty face, since the sudden death of his father in 2016, he is at the head of a colossal real estate empire and assets estimated at more than 11 billion euros. The thirty-year-old, 15th fortune in the country according to Sunday Timesis one of the largest landowners in England and owns the most beautiful areas of London.

And to make matters worse, he is very close to the royal family. Her mother, Natalia Phillips, is in fact the godmother of Prince William and she was very present at the time of Lady Diana’s death. Hugh Grosvenor is himself godfather to Prince George, but also to Archie, son of Prince Harry. If the latter should have been invited to the wedding which will take place on Friday June 7, it was decided to exclude him in view of the deleterious climate which reigns within the royal family.

Prince William will be there, perhaps with one or more of his children. He has been designated an “usher”: his mission will be to welcome guests at the entrance to Chester Cathedral.

The king and queen should not be involved. In addition to being invited the day before to the commemorations of the 80th anniversary of the landing in Normandy, Queen Camilla would still have the snub in her throat that had been inflicted on her during the wedding of the Duke’s older sister in 2004: she had been asked not to arrive with Prince Charles on the grounds that they were not yet married. They finally canceled their visit.

We don’t know much about the lucky lady, Olivia Henson, except that she studied at Marlborough College, “at the same time as Princess Eugenie.” She then followed a course of Hispanic and Italian studies at Trinity College in Dublin, according to British media. Aged 30, she works for Belazu, a London company specializing in the food industry.
