Good morning ! The Morning TF1

It’s a subject close to his heart. Invited on the set of “Bonjour! La Matinale TF1”, Marianne James returned to the fatphobia of which she was a victim, and from which too many people in France still suffer. “You can’t imagine the number of fat people who come up to me to say thank you, thank you for what you do for us”confided the singer in Current wife in 2023.

According to a recent study, of all the discriminations that exist, fatphobia is the one from which children suffer the most. “I don’t want to talk to the attackers, because we can’t stop them”reacted Marianne James. “There is a denial in France, it’s terrible. It’s the country of fashion and yet the country of the plate too. They say: ‘If you’re fat, it’s because you want to be’ “laments the former juror of “Nouvelle Star” and “France has an incredible talent”.

“We think that fat people are lazy people who have spent their lives eating, unlike you who have never eaten. Except that we are not all equal when it comes to calories and the way we move”explains Marianne James.

If we don’t all have the same metabolism, we don’t have the same degree of gluttony either, admits the artist. “It is also the seat of happiness. Afterwards, all our addiction, we carry it with us. Alcoholics and drug addicts carry it a little less”she believes.

So what can we do to change the way we view overweight people? “I don’t know if we will ever change our outlook in France. It’s less cruel in Anglo-Saxon countries. I don’t know why”, believes Marianne James who thanks her parents for giving her the verve to put people who allow themselves to make inappropriate comments into place. Even in the face of doctors who are not always kind.

“I always ask if the examination table is solid! It takes the drama off a bit. That’s why people start sending scuds at each other”analyzes the singer who believes that fat people are superheroes “because you have to carry this body and I swear to you that sometimes it’s difficult.”
