It was a request from racing, hiking or even trail enthusiasts: to have a boutique with products specific to running in Meaux. After the closure of the Foulées store, in Mareuil-lès-Meaux, in the summer of 2023, running enthusiasts no longer had a dedicated place in the area to do their shopping… Until now! Mid-October 2024, a new store, Off Courseopened its doors on rue de la Cordonnerie, in downtown Meaux.

Family project

This project is that of Gaëtan Bellamammerschool teacher in Beauval, but also president of the association Running for a schoolbag. With his wife Nawel, they decided to take the plunge by launching into commerce, while maintaining their respective professional activities. “We had this project in mind for a while. And with the closing strideswe decided to seriously prepare for the opening of a store in Meaux. We knew that the customer base was lacking,” explains Gaëtan Bellamammer.

He wanted his store to reflect his image, that of a racing enthusiast. “This project brings to fruition all these years at the Pays de Meaux athletics club and at Courir pour un cartable. »

Shoes, clothing accessories…

Here runners will find everything necessary for big outings and sporting challenges. Off Course offers equipment for running, jogging, athletics sessions, trail running, hiking, walking…

On the shelves: shoes obviously, but also clothes sportswear, socks, and accessories like vests with water bottles. “These are specific running products that you don’t necessarily find in sports stores like Decathlon. Here customers will also be able to with the advice of a specialist. »

The store also has a section for children. “There is strong demand,” assures the manager.

On the brand side, he works with Asics, Brooks, Salomon and Joma. But the range expanded very quickly with the arrival, before Christmas, of New Balance and Hoka. Gaëtan Bellamammer also wants to add accessories such as connected watches or even nutrition products. Also in the cards are activities: the organization of jogging gatherings and shoe testing.
