The Orléans Vinegar Festival returns for its second edition on May 31, June 1 and 2, 2024. Organized by the association Les amis du vinegar d’Orléans, this event highlights local know-how and cuisine regional, with vinegar as a common thread.
After the success of the first edition, which brought together professionals, chefs and master vinegar makers, the 2024 edition will be open to the general public. Here is an overview of the main themes and highlights of the festival.
The festival will begin with a guided tour on the theme “Vinegar in Orléans and the Dessaux family”, on Friday May 31 at 2 p.m. This tour, free and limited to 30 people, will immerse you in the rich history of vinegar in Orléans, exploring its roots and its importance to the region. The meeting is set at the Fort Alleaume quay for an immersion of one and a half hours.
To party…
The festival promises a festive atmosphere with two unmissable concerts. On Friday evening, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., the electro set in partnership with Cocorico Electro will kick off the festivities (paid concert, online tickets). On Saturday evening, the grand vinegar ball will take over from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., with a free concert organized in partnership with Vibration.

Learn and taste with the chefs
Cooking enthusiasts will have the opportunity to attend free masterclasses led by the Disciples d’Escoffier, on Saturdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The chefs will share their culinary techniques and secrets, particularly around the “Loiret Signature Menu”.

On Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the World Egg Mayo Championship will be held in partnership with ASOM, pitting eight local cooks against each other. A varied catering will also be available throughout the weekend thanks to food trucks, scooters, refreshment stands and ice cream parlors offering savory and sweet dishes to enjoy on the go.

Explore the market and vinegar creations
On Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., a market will bring together around thirty local producers and artisans at Campo Santo. You will find a variety of food and non-food products there. The festival shop will also be open during the three days for those who wish to leave with souvenirs.
On Sunday, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., guest chefs will create six new personalized vinegars, a tradition inaugurated during the first edition.

The official presentation of the 2023 vinegars to the chefs will take place from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The highlight of the festival will be the gala dinner, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., prepared jointly by chefs Loïs Bée and Emmanuel Perrodin, followed by a vinegar auction, the funds from which will be donated to an association in link with the Loire. A vinegary weekend, rich in flavors and discoveries!
