Cate Blanchett appeared on the red carpet of “The Apprentice” wearing a dress in the colors of the Palestinian flag.
Last November, the Australian star spoke out in favor of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The war in Gaza is once again on the red carpet. After Leïla Bekhti, seen on the steps with a pin in the shape of a watermelon in the colors of the Palestinian flag, it was the Australian star Cate Blanchett who took a stand on Monday evening on the red carpet of The Apprentice.
On the steps, the 55-year-old actress presented herself in a black bustier on the front and white on the side before discreetly revealing an ambiguous green lining. If she has not officially commented on it, her gesture is in line with her recent statements.
In a speech last November to the European Parliament on the refugee issue, Cate Blanchett declared herself in favor of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. “I don’t come from Israel or Palestine. I don’t play politics. But I am one of the witnesses”she said. “The conflict has caused, and continues to cause, thousands of innocent victims. I cannot turn a blind eye.”
