The world contemporary dance creation “Glitch Witch”, choreographed by Meg Stuart, is an event for the Théâtre Garonne, which is playing to a sold-out audience until this Friday in Toulouse.
“Glitch Witch” is this back-to-school event at the Théâtre Garonne. This world creation, initiated by the company Dance On Ensemble and choreographed by Meg Stuart, will be performed to sold-out audiences until this Friday. It features three performers, including the choreographer herself, and the Japanese composer Mieko Suzuki, who has written enveloping electro sound layers.
In this post-apocalyptic and enigmatic universe which evokes the “bug” (“glitch” means problem), three women try to coexist, to communicate in a game of powers. The performers oscillate between solitude and collective, creating a fascinating dialogue. They question us about the passage, the transformation, the unfinished, in a decor designed by Nadia Lauro, with a floor covered in ashes, in which enormous faceted balls emerge.
This organic, flamboyant pop scenography plays with the codes of disco and serves as a playground for a bittersweet reflection on time, the body and transformation. Themes dear to the Dance On Ensemble company, which brings together dancers aged over forty.
The Théâtre Garonne has been hosting pieces by choreographer Meg Stuart for around twenty years. This time, it served as a showcase for the project in its entirety, from its horizontal creation to its first performances. At the end of these three Toulouse dates, “Glitch With” will embark on a tour which will take it to Brussels, Bruges and Vienna, initially.
