After a first show with a more childish atmosphere, Arnaud Soly is preparing a second solo show, Good juicewho will be more mature, has learned The Journal. “I reveal myself in a more personal way than I have done in the past,” says the 34-year-old comedian. If the first show was a sangria, here we are on a good 2011 red wine which has taken the time to mature a little.

Arnaud Soly wanted to go elsewhere with his second proposal. While Stand-up had more adolescent themes, talking in particular about board games and escape games, the comedian wanted to address his reality as a mid-thirty-year-old and father of two young girls. “The themes will be more serious, always keeping my little absurd and crazy side on stage,” he says.

In Good juiceArnaud Soly will talk about assisted procreation. “I explain how my girlfriend and I had to turn to science to have our children, because we couldn’t do it,” he confides.

Montreal and the regions

Today the father of two daughters almost five and two and a half years old, Arnaud Soly could not avoid talking about his offspring on stage. “It’s such cliché territory in humor, children,” he remarks. I told myself that I wouldn’t be that comedian who was going to talk about it. Then you sit down to write about your reality and you realize that this is your reality. It takes your whole life, all your time!”

The comedian did not want to lock up Good juice in a theme that is too family-friendly either. Even if the show will not be officially launched until next March, and certain numbers could change between now and then, Arnaud Soly also wants to talk about growing old in your thirties and moving away from your friends. Having traveled across Quebec for his first tour, he also wrote jokes about the differences between Montreal and the regions.

Adapted calendar

Having launched his first show at the start of the pandemic, in spring 2020, Arnaud Soly was never able to experience the excitement, and the stress, of a media premiere. “It’s funny to think that this will be my first first in almost ten years in the business!”

After selling 75,000 tickets Stand-upthe comedian made a specific request to his team for the tour Good juice: never have shows on weekends, with some exceptions. “I am aware that it is a little less good for ticket sales, but I prefer to spend my Saturdays and Sundays with my daughters. I made a truly “family friendly” schedule. It’s important to me. I want to do this job for a long time and I don’t want to get burned.”

Arnaud Soly will present Good juice in Montreal (Espace St-Denis, March 12, 2025) and Quebec (Salle Albert-Rousseau, March 24, 2025). For all dates: arnaudsoly.com.
