A marriage between one of the figures of the pastry shop and the SNCF. For several days, the chef Pierre Herméfamous for its countless varieties of macarons, is displayed at the Gare de Lyon, in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. Already well established in the capital with its twenty boutiquesthe 62-year-old businessman launched a unique biscuit for the gourmet restaurant The Blue Train.
Lavender and lemon
This famous brand, present on the first floor of the station since the beginning of the 20th century, offers a macaron designed by Pierre Hermé on the menu. The operation has started Wednesday October 9, 2024. It also concerns the designer’s boutique. Guests can enjoy a dessert entitled “A gourmet escape to the Mediterranean “. A way of embracing one of the functions of this place, which serves the south-east of France.
Regularly praised by his peers, Pierre Hermé has, this time, concocted a biscuit with lavenderand at citronflavors very present in Provence. “I wish you a tasting rich in discoveries and emotions and I hope that this macaron will take you on a journey,” said the pastry chef in a press release sent by the operator SSP.
In four decades of career, the native of Colmar (Haut-Rhin) has taken advantage of his notoriety to collaborate with numerous houses intervene in several tv shows and write around forty books. He also founded his own company, called Maison Pierre Hermé. The latter is present in Paris.
In addition to its stalls dedicated to macarons, a boutique dedicated to chocolat opened in May 2024, in the 2nd arrondissement, near the Opéra Garnier. This is its first store uniquelycomposed of cocoa-based works.
