The Splendid troupe met Thursday afternoon at the Père-Lachaise cemetery for a final tribute to the unforgettable Jean-Claude Dusse.

A final farewell. The members of Splendid gathered late Thursday afternoon at the Père-Lachaise cemetery in to pay tribute to the memory of Michel Blanc.

A photo showing the troupe with a crown of flowers was published by Gérard Jugnot and Marilou Berry on their Instagram account. “Your colleagues from the French of intensity”, mysteriously indicates the dedication.

“Michel would have hated this place… There are far too many trees,” Marilou Berry wrote playfully. “It’s between Chopin and Delacroix… It’s not bad…”, she added, deadpan.

About the flowers, Josiane Balasko’s daughter added: “These imbeciles, they didn’t understand that they were from us, they left them on the square! It’s the dedication, the colleagues of the French woman from the intensity… they didn’t understand…”

Offbeat references

Cinema personalities and admirers paid tribute to Michel Blanc on Thursday in Paris. Inside the Saint-Eustache church, contemplation mixed with joyfully offbeat references to the actor.

“You who almost became a pianist, you will be able to spend your evenings playing with everyone,” said Josiane Balasko in a nod to the actor’s primary vocation.

At the end of the funeral, Josiane Balasko judged the ceremony “very beautiful”. “There were a lot of people. There was even a Jean-Claude Dusse behind. I think he would have liked it.”

A rare occurrence for a personality: the church had opened its doors to the public, who rushed inside to fill the pews. Outside, hundreds of people remained in front of the gates to listen to the sound broadcast.
