Attention epicureans, the belly festival is making a comeback in on Saturday October 12 and Sunday October 13, 2024! For its 25th edition, the gastronomic festival will take an international dimension with a new event called “Rouen à table!”. On the program: giant brunch, battle of the chefs, gastronomic rally… discover the program!

Every third weekend in October, this event transforms the streets of the city center into a giant market to celebrate the richness and diversity of ’s local products. More than 170 exhibitors will displayBetween Place du Vieux-Marché, Place de la Pucelle and Rue Jeanne-d’Arc.

Among the products you can taste: apples, cheeses, ciders, andouille and other cold meats, watercress, dairy products, and jams. And more surprising: mustard, wine, saffron, or even flax-based foods.

The youngest – but not only – will find a mini-farm in the shadow of the courthouse.

The Belly Festival in Rouen is always a big party!

Rouen is the only French city to be part of the UNESCO Creative Cities network in terms of gastronomy, and it wants to make it known. In parallel with the belly festival, a new event called “Rouen à table” will appear.

On the program: A giant breakfast at the foot of the cathedral; a gastronomic rally to discover the city’s restaurants in 7 stages, from the starter to the café in the form of bites; cooking classes with the Fauchon school; an outdoor Sunday brunch; a giant snack at Place des Emmurées, with haute couture pastries and a children’s show.

Another new feature and not the least: the organization of a major battle of chefs will take place on Saturday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Place de la Cathédrale. Five Norman chefs will face five international chefs under a big tent.

Three products will be in the spotlight during these battles:and Norman oxen, renowned for its tender and tasty meat, embodies the excellence of regional breeding; Le Neufchâtel, symbolic heart-shaped cheese, seduced by its subtle taste and creamy texture; and the Normandy apple, crunchy and fragrant, is the emblematic fruit of the region, used in many culinary specialties.

Tastings of the chefs’ creations and DJ set will come and add ambiance to this beautiful afternoon.

Each battle will end with the revelations of the jury’s votes to define the winner.

Among the members of the jury, the godfather of Rouen à Table! Gilles Tournadre: famous for his restaurant Gill, awarded 2 stars in the Michelin Guide for 32 years until 2020. It is today anchored in the history of gastronomy in Rouen with its other restaurants and businesses: Gill Côté Bistro, Café Hamlet and Gill’s Pastries.

Part of the public will have the opportunity to be part of the jury, to do so, take a ticket when you enter the marquee.
