Headlining this edition, the film “Deep Freeze” promises a breathtaking experience. Directed by Yannick Boissenot, this 26-minute film immerses spectators in the icy world of the unknown. 37 years ago, Patrick Gabarrou and Hervé Bouvard defied the impossible by opening the Directissime de la Walker on the north face of the Grandes Jorasses. No mountaineer had succeeded in repeating this route until February 2023. This is where Charles Dubouloz, Symon Welfringer and Clovis Paulin begin the ascent of this mythical face, adding an additional difficulty: making the first free ascent in winter .
