Rappers Flo Rida and K. Maro will be visiting the North Shore for the Mani-Utenam Innu Nikamu Festival, which had already announced the arrival of big names like Bryan Adams and Samantha Fox.

The Innu community of Uashat mak Mani-Utenam, neighboring Sept-Îles, rolls out the red carpet for international stars as part of the 40e edition of the Innu Nikamu Festival. In addition to Bryan Adams, Samantha Fox, Flo Rida and K. Maro, the Danish group Aqua, interpreter of the famous earworm Barbie Girlpublished in 1997, will also be there.

Inuk singer Elisapie and Quebec music veteran Claude Dubois complete the festival’s headliner lineup. Elisapie stood out in the last year with her album Inuktikutin which she covers great rock classics in the language of her native Nunavik.

Panoply of indigenous artists

As the Innu Nikamu Festival aims above all to be a celebration of indigenous culture and music, a range of artists from communities across Quebec will also grace the stage installed on the site of the former Mani-Utenam residential school. . We will notably be able to see Soleil Launière, who will be in the final of the Francouvertes, on May 13, as well as Shauit, Katia Rock and Scott-Pien Picard, all from Uashat mak Mani-Utenam.

The 40e edition of the Innu Nikamu Festival will be held from July 30 to August 4.
