There was a triggering moment, a sentence… Pierre-Yves Bureau said: “We have the best filly over 2,400 meters”, and I replied: “So why run 2,000 meters?”The filly’s entourage asked me if I wanted to run the Arc and my answer was: “Yes. I can’t promise to be in the top three, but she’s going to run a crazy race.” And that’s what she did!
Aidan O’Brien, coach of Los Angeles (3e): “He put in a great performance. He was very brave at the front, we wanted to have a back and did not want to liven up the race, but by force of circumstances, the horse had to lead. We will see how he fits in and possibly move towards the Champion Stakes (Group I).”
Jérôme Reynier, coach of Zarakem (6e) : “Delighted. He has a golden career. Did he sin by lack of dress? He marked time when Bluestocking left. 2,400 meters in this terrain is perhaps the end of the world. He was in his bubble thanks to the hat. We believed it. We’re not far. His jockey told us that he made a lot of noise at the start of the straight. This is how it is, unfortunately we cannot do the shopping again. Hopefully we can be back next year.”

Christophe Soumillon, jockey of Continuous (15e): “I galloped in Beech Zark (who had previously had an accident, editor’s note) on the descent, while I was trying to go inside. That being said, the terrain was a little difficult for my horse. The weekend was still successful. Throughout the 2 days, we gave them “couscous”!”
