It’s a big release. Blue & Company is a animated film which combines both animated characters and real flesh-and-blood characters, real actors, notably Ryan Reynolds.
In the feature film, Bea, a young girl (Cailey Fleming), discovers one day that she can see imaginary friends… who are therefore animated characters. Among these imaginary friends, there are those who were adored by children and then forgotten, there are those who experience it badly, and then there are those who have become mean.
Blue & Company is a real comedy, there are plenty of gags, but the film also asks questions about how we get out of our childhood, of his childhood pains. It’s pretty, the animation is very beautiful. And then there is a real advantage: in terms of French voices, there are plenty of stars.
José Garcia takes care of that of the main character, Blue, a sort of large purple stuffed animal. There is a unicorn, it’s Marina Foy. And then there is an event, it is the return of Mylène Farmer to animation. The singer gave voice in Arthur and the Minimoys by Luc Besson a few years ago. There, she plays Blossom, an important character.
It is an exercise that requires rigor and concentration.
Mylène Farmer, one of the French voices of “Blue & Compagnie”
“Blossom is a butterfly, sweet, mischievous, she is attentive, explains Mylène Farmer. She is the imaginary friend of a grandmother, passionate about dancing. Blossom is too, she is full of life It’s an exercise that requires rigor and concentration.”
The star continues: “I found José Garcia, who plays Blue. I had worked with him on Minimoys, so I would like a Blue. Not José Garcia, but a Blue the stuffed animal, if that’s possible!”
Blue & Company, by John Krasinski, with Mylène Farmer and José Garcia among the French voices, currently in theaters.
