Just ten months after her husband’s death, in August 2005, Dana announced that she had lung cancer, although she had never smoked in her life. Less than a year later, in March 2006, she died in New York at the age of 44, leaving her son Will an orphan at age 14. “That’s when I realized I was all alone,” he confesses in the documentary.

The closest family he had were his half-brothers, but they lived far away from him, residing in Bedford, New York. So his mother arranged for Will to stay with neighbors and family friends, so that he wouldn’t have to change schools or undergo other major life changes after losing both parents in a short period of time.

“Although I didn’t get to spend much time with my parents, they raised me in a completely normal and human way, making sure that I kept my feet on the ground and faced all the obstacles that life throws at you, Will Reeve recently told USA Today The sadness never goes away, but you get used to it. My parents may be dead, but they will always be remembered. »

Under the father’s lens

Will began acting as a child, when his father gave him small roles in some of the films he made for television, such as In the Gloamingwith Glenn Close, and The Brooke Ellison Story. And soon, he will make his return to the big screen in an eminently symbolic film: the new film adaptation of Superman directed by James Gunn, which will be released in cinemas next year.
