A tune with a sometimes epic tone and evoking the French Touch: the official musical theme of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, entitled “Parade”, is unveiled on Wednesday upon the arrival of the flame in Marseille, on the three-masted Belem.
This tune was to be played live by the Marseille orchestra from the Palais du Pharo, the organizers told AFP.

This short theme, of which AFP was able to listen to an extract, starts with a light, pop tune, with violins, then builds up with the symphony orchestra, moves to an epic register with choirs, to become a typical electro loop. of the French Touch, with a festive coloring.
Its composer, Victor Le Masne, says he had “a thousand things to say” : “the power, the fever”, “the jubilation of the spectators”, “the tension, the stress before entering the stadium”, “the moment of celebration, sometimes also dismay”.
Declined in “variations” with different sounds and rhythms, this melody “will accompany all the highlights of the Games, from the arrival of the Olympic flame in Marseille at each stage of the relay, to the competition sites”according to the organizers.
It’s here “musical signature that we want to be able to find at different times, so that each spectator, each person who will be in contact with the Games, says to themselves: hey, I recognize this music. It’s the signature, it’s the signature of Paris 2024”commented Tony Estanguet, president of the organizing committee.
Recorded with the Orchester national de France
It was recorded with, among others, the National Orchestra of France as well as the Choir and the Maîtrise de Radio France.
Not to be confused with the Olympic anthem, created during the first modern Games and which accompanies the lighting of the flame in Olympia, Greece, for example.
Victor Le Masne, musician, producer and arranger, is known for having worked with Juliette Armanet, Justice and on the rock opera “Starmania”, brought up to date by the director Thomas Jolly, who later became artistic director games.
