The 26-year-old carpenter and father of a little boy had become one of the favorites of viewers thanks to his performances and his activity on the camp. But his morale began to decline after 30 days of adventure and especially of food deprivation. Fatigue was fatal to him.

Having left, as he often does, in the woods to look for food, Jean is suddenly filmed in the makeshift tent with a bloody hand. He explains to his teammates that he cut his finger with the machete. He then tells them that he has seriously twisted his ankle: “I wallowed in the woods. It turned 90 (degrees). »

Seeing his swollen ankle, he had no choice, so the adventure doctor was called. The latter puts a stitch on his injured finger, then examines his foot. It’s a sprain. Jean must wear a splint until the next morning, the day of the immunity test, and is forbidden from putting his foot on the ground.

But after the night, the diagnosis is not good. In front of all these comrades, the host Denis Brogniart tells him a few minutes before the start of the event that he must leave the adventure because his injury is not compatible with the game. He is in tears, after having kissed all his comrades very moved, let him go.
