American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs apologized on Sunday for his “inexcusable” and “disgusting” behavior after CNN broadcast a video showing an unleashing of violence on his part against his former partner, the R&B singer “ Cassie,” in 2016 in a Los Angeles hotel.

“My behavior in this video is inexcusable,” the global star and New York hip-hop billionaire said in a video posted to his Instagram account. He adds that he is “disgusted” by what we see on the screen and explains that he has since sought treatment, particularly for his addictions. “I’m really sorry,” he adds.

The 54-year-old rapper and producer, who also goes by “Puff Daddy” and “P. Diddy”, has been caught since 2023 by several accusations of rape, sexual exploitation and physical and psychological violence.

Among them is a civil complaint filed in New York in November by Cassie who accused her ex-partner of rape in 2018 and of “violent” and “deviant” behavior over a decade, such as forced sexual relations with male prostitutes. . The matter was ultimately settled “amicably” according to a confidential agreement.

The legal action by the singer, real name Casandra Ventura, referred to a particularly violent physical attack, which was demonstrated in video surveillance images dated March 5, 2016 and revealed and authenticated by CNN on Friday.

We see the rapper, simply wearing a towel around his waist, catching up with Cassie in a hotel corridor, grabbing her roughly and throwing her violently to the ground, before kicking her several times. The rapper had denied everything since the civil complaint in November and was not criminally charged.
