Lhe Paris commercial court ruled in favor of NRJ this Tuesday, in the dispute between it and host Sébastien Cauet, accused of rape, reports BFM TV. The host is rejected.
The commercial court ruled that the contracts concluded between Cauet’s companies and the NRJ group were “null” since the accusations against him arose.
When the first accusations of rape and sexual assault appeared last November, the host no longer appeared on the air. A decision announced on social networks as taken between the channel and Sébastien Cauet “by mutual agreement” to “guarantee the serenity” of the procedure.
But the latter had taken NRJ to court, ruling that the contract linking the radio to its production company, Be Aware, had been improperly terminated. The host therefore asks the radio station to be compensated 4.4 million euros for the contract years due and, according to him, not completed. On the NRJ side, it was felt that this contract had expired since the rape accusations against him emerged.
Sébastien Cauet is the target of five complaints from young women who accuse him of rape and sexual assault.
