It’s difficult to give a better wedding gift: a couple from Pas-de-Calais was able to open their wedding ball to a new Coldplay song… which hadn’t been released yet!
Céline and Paul Delcloy got married in September. True fans of Coldplay, they tried a poker game which worked and the English group sent them, as a world exclusive, a studio version of their song “All my Love”, which was not yet available, reports the media American People.
A few days before their wedding ceremony, the lovers, who live in Calais, spotted on the social network X (formerly Twitter), an extract from All my Love, performed by Chris Martin on the piano. The song is not scheduled to be released until October 4, alongside Coldplay’s new album, Moon Music…but they’ve loved it since the first time they heard it.
In June, “in Athens, Chris Martin played All My Love, a song that became our anthem as we faced many challenges in our lives, such as Céline’s battle with Crohn’s disease, or the death of my father. The lyrics echo the hardships we have endured, but also the power of love between us, making this song important to us“, the couple told People.
So, when the Northerners came across the extract, shared by the group, on X, they got their chance, by calling out Phil Harvey, the group’s manager, on the social network. “We’re getting married in 2 days, please Phil, do your magic and let us dance to All my love», They wrote on the social network on September 5. Phil Harvey responds: “Congratulations Paul. Let me see what I can do».
Already in August, Paul and Céline had shared on X a photo of them, at the Coldplay concert in Lyon, with a small poster: “Would you like to come and play All My Love for our wedding ball opening?». «Chris had noticed and said “Maybe”», Confided the bride and groom to the American media. “After numerous attempts to contact the group, a miracle happened two days before our wedding. Phil, the “fifth member” of the group, promised to do his best to make our dream come true».
And the magic happened! If the members of Coldplay did not come to their wedding, the lovebirds had the chance to obtain, exclusively, All My Love for their opening ball… and their wedding somehow became the world premiere of the title .
“We had a world first”
On September 8, the day after their union, celebrated in Belle-et-Houllefort, near Boulogne-sur-Mer, according to BFM TV, Paul shared a video of their first dance: “We had a world premiere of All My Love. We cried a lot. This music is important to us. Céline has lived with an illness for many years, I lost my father four years ago. We both supported each other in many situations. Thank you Coldplay, we are so proud and overwhelmed that you accepted“, he wrote.
«When we received the song, the day before the wedding, we cried several times when we heard it, Paul told BFM TV. And on D-Day, it really took on a different dimension. We, like the guests, I think we didn’t really realize how lucky we were. Exclusive music from a global group that we’ve been following for years, I think it was magical and there’s nothing more beautiful as a gift on a wedding day, we can’t hope for better».
And the icing on the cake, they received, on X, a message from Coldplay: “Congratulations Céline and Paul. We wish you a life filled with love, laughter and joy.reacted the members of the group, by reposting the video of their opening ball.
