“Here it all begins” Summary of the episode of October 8, 2024

Lionel’s ploy

Mattéo spent the night on Lætitia’s sofa. In the morning, when he wakes up, he notices that the living room is cluttered with clothes and dirty dishes from the day before. Confused, he assures Inès that he is going to clean. The teenager reassures him by telling him that at Lætitia, the atmosphere is relaxed. Then she takes an apple lying under the table, bites into it, and spits out pieces. Mattéo is taken aback. But he is not at the end of his surprises.

At Double A, Jude focuses on the presentation of a plate and explains to Solal that he wants it to be perfect. “As always” replies the third year student before specifying that he finds it thorough. Jude then wonders if he is manic. Vic asks him how often he cleans each week. He replies that he deep cleans twice a week. Jude then realizes that he is indeed manic.

Mattéo, for his part, arrives at Laetitia’s house and discovers Inès’ dirty socks placed on her pillow. He is disappointed. What Mattéo doesn’t know is that Lionel and Inès have concocted a ploy to encourage him to reconcile with Jude.

Leonardo wins a new challenge but…

Leonardo confides to Maya that Gaspard has a new fad: he listens to Italian opera at full volume during the night, which annoys him deeply. Gaspard, who heard everything, interrupts them. He makes a proposition to Leonard: whoever wins the next OZ challenge keeps the room all to himself for three days. Leonardo is already dreaming of it. Maya, who has just received notification of Oz’s next challenge, tries to dissuade her, but Leonard does not listen to her and accepts.

The problem is that the challenge is to remain silent for two hours. During the service, Sabri comes to Leonard’s rescue. He speaks in his place to answer customers’ questions. Then, he makes Chef Delobel, who is there to drink coffee, believe that Leonard has a loss of voice. But Benoît is not fooled. He summons Antoine and Clotilde, convinced that the two students lied to him. Clotilde explains that she had a problem during her class with Gaspard. When she questioned him, he simply nodded and spoke again as soon as she threatened to fire him. Benoît concludes that the students are making bets among themselves.

Malik, for his part, informs Leonard that he is at the top of the rankings on the OZ application. Leonardo boasts of his victory in front of Gaspard.

Hippolyte violently pushes Laetitia

At the Institute, Lætitia is studying for the maître d’ championship when Pénélope and Billie join her. Billie apologizes for what she heard the day before. She admits that Tom can be heavy at times. Lætitia responds that she doesn’t need his excuses and emphasizes that she is no better than Tom or Thibault, because apparently she shares their opinion that she has no place in this competition. Lætitia insists that she has taken tests and has the right to participate. Billie replies that she went behind everyone’s back to run as an independent candidate. In addition, she chose the honorary president as coach, which she considers particularly unfair. Lætitia replies that she is determined to prove to him and to Thibault that she deserves her place in the competition. After Billie’s departure, Pénélope confides to Lætitia that she is surprised because she no longer wanted to participate in the championship and that she wanted to talk to Stanislas about her father’s illness. Lætitia justifies herself by explaining that Hippolyte asked her not to say anything before the end of the championship. She adds that it is ultimately not up to her to tell Stanislas that his father has Alzheimer’s disease.

Antoine, for his part, asks Stanislas if things have worked out between Lætitia and him. The hall master replies that they had a discussion and that their relationship remains fragile. Lætitia has a hard time forgiving him for lying to her about the rules. Stanislas then admits that he should have encouraged him from the start. He admits to Antoine that he is happy that she is participating in the competition, but he cannot help but worry about her because she has to train with her father. He knows how tough and brittle he can be. Antoine wants to be reassuring. He thinks that Hippolyte will behave correctly.

Stanislas goes to the Studio to speak to his father. Hippolyte is absent. Suddenly, he tells his son that he is preparing this morning’s exercise and that Madeleine will not be long. Madeleine was his wife, a remarkable cook. Stanislas points out to his father that he has just got his first name wrong when talking about Lætitia. Hippolyte makes his son believe that his mind was elsewhere then he talks about his late wife and his signature dish. He then confides to Stanislas that he has agreed to coach Lætitia in the hope of getting closer to him. He adds that Lætitia has talent and that he is convinced that she has everything to become a great hostess. Stanislas admits to him that he is a little worried, because he knows his teaching methods. “My old methods,” corrects Hippolyte, and promises his son that he will not be disrespectful or humiliating with Lætitia.

A few minutes later, Hippolyte drags Lætitia away. I ask him to describe a plate to him. Lætitia does so. Hippolyte believes that his explanations mean nothing. The old man is extremely aggressive towards her, and does not take it easy to reproach her! Lætitia loses her temper… The situation could have gotten out of hand, but against all odds, Hippolyte apologizes. But a few minutes later, he confuses Lætitia with his late wife and says to her: “Bravo Madeleine. We’re done, we can go home. The restaurant is closed, there is no one left.” Laetitia tries to bring him back to the present. Without success. Hippolyte tells him that Stanislas is waiting for them then he leaves the room. Laetitia tries to hold him back. But Hippolyte violently pushes her against the Studio door.
