Emily Blunt headlines

We can’t help but dive back into the memories of this cult film, where fans were captivated not only by the spicy humor and memorable lines, but also by the multitudes of haute couture outfits. Between the dresses, lavish coats, and luxury shoes, every scene felt like a fashion show. And all this under the watchful (and merciless) eye of Miranda Priestly, the editor-in-chief of Runway magazine, played to perfection by Meryl Streep.

According to the site Productionlist.com, the original casting would indeed be confirmed: Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, Anne Hathaway aka Andrea Sachs, Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton, the acid assistant whose scathing lines still resonate, and of course Stanley Tucci as charismatic stylist Nigel. The character of Emily would also be at the heart of this new plot, which promises a clash of generations between Miranda and the woman who was her assistant.

In this sequel, Miranda finds herself facing a major challenge: the end of her career in a world where traditional magazines are losing momentum. And it is Emily, who has become a senior executive in a large luxury group, who could well be his most formidable adversary.

Risks after such success?

For those who feared a change of direction, rest assured: director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, both behind the first opus, are back for this sequel. With them at the helm, we can hope to find everything that made the first film successful, between rivalries, ambition and, of course, wardrobes worthy of the biggest catwalks. Filming should begin on November 30 of this year!
