Nathalie Simard regrets this parody of Mitsou

Nathalie Simard was invited to the show kidswhere several moments from his career were presented, including a video of an imitation of Mitsou Gélinas.

Several years ago, in 1988, Saturday of laughterthe singer took to the stage to do a parody version of Bye Bye My Cowboy whose lyrics had been changed to: “I’m told that my songs are nounounes, it always rhymes with foufounes. And if my record stopped spinning, I would finish my fifth year. Bye Bye my Barbie, Bye Bye my Boutchou doll.

In addition, at the very end of this humorous moment, she closes by singing: “What I want in life is to show that I have nothing Mitsou»

It is following the presentation of this extract that Nathalie admits to being disappointed to have done this at the time. She first explains that, at that moment, she was like a little robot and mostly did what was asked of her.

“I didn’t see the extent of the repercussions. Mitsou is a super intelligent woman (…) One of our good business women. But she has been ridiculed for a long time and that’s what pains me. When I saw this again, I did: that doesn’t make any sense. Having had the head I have today…”, testifies Nathalie on an imitation that she would certainly no longer agree to do today.

The host André Robitaille however, wanted to reassure her by telling her that Mitsou had a good sense of humor. However, she ended by admitting that she is sensitive.

Another era; another reality!
