“Help!” Help!!! » On her Instagram account, musician Ophélie Gaillard launched an appeal to try to find her cello, worth 1.3 million euros. On the night of September 24 to 25, his home in Annecy in Haute-Savoie was burglarized. The thieves made off with his precious musical instrument and bows.
And this is not the first time that this cello, made in 1737 in Udine in Italy by the luthier Francesco Goffriller, has disappeared. In 2018, the soloist was threatened with a knife and her attacker fled with the instrument. A few days later, following an anonymous call, she found it lying in front of her home. An outcome that Ophélie Gaillard would surely like to relive today.
