Thursday April 25, 2024, at the Manon de Lambézellec residence, in , the young prodigy Iris Gloanec Lanchec gave a concert for the residents and in particular for Hélène Gallerand who was celebrating her 104th birthday. A varied program between classic (Saint-Saëns, Dvorak…) and varieties (Dassin, Aznavour…) which delighted the forty spectators. His brother Gauthier, 9 years old, also participated in this enchanting moment, performing a few pieces on the cello, an instrument he has been playing for three years.

Violin at 5, cello at 8

“I started playing the violin at 5 and a half years old, with Jean-Philippe Brun then Arthur Soulès, and the cello at 8 years old with Laura Buruiana at the Brest Conservatory. I also take classes in with Claire Oppert. Since November 2022, this is the tenth time that I have come to play here,” rewinds the 13-year-old girl, who attends Sainte-Anne college in Brest.

A Diploma of Musical Studies in hand

In 2023, Iris Gloanec Lanchec obtained her Diploma of Musical Studies (DEM) in violin, individual recognition of a very high level of musical practice. In this year 2024, she takes the cello course.

having obtained numerous first prizes during prestigious international competitions, such as the Glazounov competition (cello), twice the “The Golden Keys” competition (cello) which aims to reveal the talents of tomorrow, she received, in 2023, a first prize at the Flame competition (cello), in Paris.
