After a very confidential first edition in 2023, the Tarn festival “Débord & DesRives” returns with an enriched formula. This month of April, he is traveling around the Albigensian region and its surroundings to defend a very eclectic poster.

Since April 6 and until April 21, the “Débord & DesRives” program ranges from film debates to theater-dance, from concerts to exhibitions, from poetic encounters to conferences. The common thread of the festival: the artistic encounter. And the tone is set, it will be polymorphic.

Strongly supported by the ADDA du Tarn, this emerging event is hosted by Le Frigo, the Arcé room, La Cheminée and Le BAR in . But also L’Hibernie in Carmaux and La Gare in St Juéry. Anxious to invite art to places where it is not usually received, the program will also stop at farms in Sainte-Gemme, Assac and Virac.

An artistic laboratory ready to be mobile, the “Débord & DesRives” festival seizes all the pretexts for experimentation. “In the programming as in the reception venues, our objective is to offer hybrid and surprising encounters,” explains the Arterre association, organizer of the festival. A “mosaic” which reflects the different professions and interests grouped within the collective.

It was in 2022 that Arterre, based in Teillet and made up of six friends, imagined the festival. Professional dancers, cultural mediator in cinema, geographer converted to agriculture, retired, lifelong volunteer in the world of culture… At the root of the festival is their common commitment to very current themes: agroecology, LGBT struggles, feminism… “We were all very animated by these questions. So it seemed obvious to us to use the mediums we know through our work to talk about it.”

Started at the beginning of the month, this second edition brings a variety of audiences in its wake. “Débord & DesRives” hopes to be a lasting part of the Tarn spring events.
