On his social networksthe Association for Support of Audiovisual and Cinematographic Projects (ASPAC) has in recent weeks gradually lifted the veil on the contours of the fourth edition of its international social film festival.

It will be held from June 7 to 9, 2024, at the Lionel-Boutrouche space d’Ingré (). “The festival will begin on Friday with an opening ceremony, with the screening of a film,” comments Patrick Alves, president of ASPAC.

As usual, these are short films which will be honored. “We want to defend cinema and this format, which we want to introduce to spectators, who are more used to seeing feature films,” recalls Patrick Alves.

Ten French films, five foreign

Fifteen films, selected by the association’s selection committee, will be in competition. Ten French people, five foreigners. They were chosen from nearly 285 applications from directors, made on the Shortfilmdepot platform.

Two juries will be responsible for awarding the prizes. A first of high school students, made up of six students passionate about cinema from the cinema option of the Maurice Genevoix d’Ingré high school.

The second, chaired by documentary director Karine Dusfour, will be made up of professionals: Dimitri Fouque, actor, Jean-Philippe Varin, wildlife film collaborator, Lama Serhan, program manager within the Digital Creations Unit at Arte , and director Sylvie Gautier.

The audience will also have a say with the awarding of a prize.

In 2023, the festival organizers invited two distinguished guests, namely Guillaume Canet and Alex Lutz. A new figure from the seventh art should join the meeting in June, but his identity has not yet been revealed.

“We hope that people don’t wait until that to come, especially since this year we want to highlight local talent,” expects Patrick Alves.

Ingré associations will take part in the event, including an exhibition of photos and paintings on the social theme. On Sunday afternoon, the municipal band will offer a film concert.
