The American singer, known for being the leader of the group Bon Jovi, was applauded by the Nashville police on Wednesday September 11 for having come to the aid of a woman the day before who was about to jump from a bridge.

American rock legend Jon Bon Jovi saved a woman who was about to jump off a bridge in Nashville, USA, on Tuesday, September 10. While filming a music video, the singer and his production team noticed that a woman had climbed over the railing and was about to jump into a river.

With an unnamed person, Jon Bon Jovi approached the woman and began talking to her, before convincing her not to jump. They then helped her over the railing to the other side.

The woman was taken to hospital

It was the Nashville police who published on their social networks this Wednesday, September 11, the video surveillance images of the scene, wishing to pay tribute to the singer.

“Hats off to him and his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthalter Bridge on Tuesday night,” read one widely shared message. The video, which was deleted by YouTube, was nevertheless posted online by many Internet users and media outlets.

“It takes each of us doing our part to keep each other safe,” Nashville Police Chief John Drake added.

It’s unclear what Jon Bon Jovi said to the woman, and the singer has yet to respond. According to Page Six, he won’t be commenting on the matter “out of respect for the person who was in a distressed and vulnerable situation.”

CNN reports that the woman was taken to hospital for treatment after being rescued by Jon Bon Jovi’s team.
