Of April 20 to 27, 2024he invites to exchange, discover, debate and bring about our future around the transitions of culture, food, economy, social, territory, training, responsible digital and technologies. The festival is open to all and essentially free, with registration required for many events.
Some meetings are intended for professionals, associations and schools in the canton. EXPLORE DEMAIN closes the program for the 2023-2024 presidential year Democratize-GE.
Saturday April 20 in Carouge
The City of Carouge hosts the EXPLORE DEMAIN festival from morning until the end of the night. The day first, on the theme of “the plate of the future” will take place in the Tours district. Several workshops, thematic walks, round tables, a show and a Climathon will punctuate this April 20 under the sign of food, with numerous speakers, including Rob Hopkins, the activist at the origin of the cities movement in transition. A small catering offer will be offered at Les Tours. Night owls can then head to the Motel Campo, to dance to the rhythm of the decks of emerging DJs from the Swiss electronic scene (paid evening).
Sunday April 21 at the Pont des Bergues
Meet for a day at the lake, around a brunch with regional and seasonal products on the Pont des Bergues (paid food stands). A call for contributions is also open until April 3 to propose an operating concept (postulations on exploregeneve.ch/infos-pratiques).
Tuesday April 23 at the Palladium and Grütli
In partnership with the City of Geneva, the Palladium welcomes urban planner Sylvain Grisot for a professional workshop, then a public lecture on the adaptation of cities to crises. The evening also offers a screening of the film WarGames (1983) by John Badham (paid screening) at the Grütli, which will be followed by a discussion around the issues of artificial intelligence.
From Wednesday April 24 to Saturday April 27 at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices
For four days, the festival takes place at the BFM. Each day is punctuated by round tables, workshops, shows and podcasts always on the theme of transitions.
EXPLORE DEMAIN will have the honor of welcoming journalist Salomé Saqué, activist Camille Etienne and writer Erik Orsenna for various round tables; the singer Pomme for an enchanted concert; the musician Arthur Henry for sound recordings; the Impro Suisse team for an anthology match; journalists from Chahut Média for live podcasts; migrants for a solidarity meal from here and elsewhere; or even Geneva DJ Sonja Moonear for an electro closing evening.
In another vein, a citizen panel will be drawn to work on the notice for a future cantonal vote. The BFM will also house three exhibitions including “Hungry Planet” by Peter Menzel, which examines in images the cultural and economic differences of families around the world by having them pose in front of their weekly ration of food.
