Our Swiss neighbors will be well represented at the Jazz à festival.

Created in 1981, the Jazz à Vienne festival quickly established itself as an unmissable event for all jazz lovers in and even . In 2024, the festival will still take place in the same place, in the legendary ancient theater of Vienna, a place steeped in history. We have also devoted an entire article to the history of this festival through some major founding dates. This year, will be highlighted in the program.

You should know that Switzerland is a pioneer country of jazz in Europe, it is even there was the birth of the first jazz in Europe, created in 1976: the Swiss Jazz School. The Swiss’ love for this music has not weakened, since the country now has around fifteen schools renowned for educating our younger generations in the practice of jazz. It is therefore normal to see the country highlighted during Jazz à Vienne in 2024, with the support of Pro Helvetia, a Swiss foundation for the promotion of culture.

Every year from now on, jazz players from a particular European country will be highlightedthis year it’s the turn of our Swiss neighbors, who are numerous in the program: the guitarist Louis Matute will play on opening night, for example. We will also find, in the following days, Léon Phal, the Elvett group, Louise Knobiln Manon Mullener, the Ydivide group and Fabien Sevilla, names well known to those who follow European jazz news.
