Since this Monday evening, January 13 and until February 25, access to adult and pediatric emergencies in Loire-Atlantique is limited at night. From 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., it is no longer possible to show up spontaneously in Nantes, Saint-Nazaire, Rezé, Châteaubriant and Ancenis. You must go through 15 or be brought by the firefighters, paramedics, Samu or be referred by a health professional.
At the same time, faced with the flu epidemic and the increase in hospitalizations, three hospitals in the department, Nantes, Saint-Nazaire and Châteaubriant, launched the white plan last week, in order to free up downstream beds and be able to call back staff if necessary.
On the other hand, for the moment, the two other establishments with an emergency department, the Ancenis public hospital and the Confluent private hospital in Rezé (Vivalto santé group) have not needed to go into white plan .
“At Confluent, to deal with the flu epidemic, we have intensified our collaborations with the University Hospital and other establishments, underlines Caroline Berthet, the director. All of our downstream hospitalization beds are open, all specialties combined, with the number of staff in place. We remain 100% mobilized to support and accompany the CHU and the population of our territory in the face of these winter tensions. »
In 2024, on several occasions, Confluent had already had to regulate access to its own emergency rooms, at night and on certain weekends.
