A recent study, published in theEuropean Heart Journal and relayed by ABC News, followed more than 40,000 Americans from 1999 to 2018. The results indicate that drinking coffee at this time of day specifically would reduce the overall risk of death by 16%.

Drinking your coffee between 4 a.m. and noon could be more beneficial than you think. Because the overall risk of death, compared to those who wait until the afternoon or who do not drink coffee at all, would be significantly reduced.
A story of rhythm and inflammation?
According to researchers at Tulane University (Louisiana), aligning your coffee consumption with the body’s sleep-wake cycles would explain this reduction in mortality risk. They also suggest that coffee consumed in the morning could help reduce inflammation (which tends to be higher upon waking), thereby promoting heart health. Study also reports that those who sip their morning coffee are at risk of death from heart disease 31 % lower than non-drinkers. The number of cups and the type of coffee (decaffeinated or not) did not seem to modify this trend.
Please note, this is not absolute proof.
However, the scientists have a caveat: the participants themselves reported their consumption habits, which can bias the data. Furthermore, the link between coffee and the lower risk of death could be a combination of circumstances, since individuals who consume coffee in the morning could simply have a generally healthier lifestyle, for example with a better diet and a more active daily life. “I think we need a more in-depth study to demonstrate a real relationship that would change the direction,” commented Dr. Perry Fisher, an interventional cardiologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, who judges the Interesting results, but insufficient to change your coffee consumption habits.
For the moment, we’re not declaring victory… but if you enjoy your morning coffee, it would apparently be a habit to keep!
