HEALTH / For several days, the Southern Alps hospital center in Gap has been facing a very high number of people in its services.

This Thursday, Chicas activated its white plan. The white plan is a system which specifies the methods of crisis management within a health establishment. The cause: a large number of people in the Chicas services linked exclusively to the intensification of the circulation of winter viruses, in particular the flu, but also the high attendance at ski resorts. This influx causes significant waiting times at emergency services as well as saturation of reception capacities. The white plan was activated for safety reasons to guarantee continuity of care.
Actions implemented
Numerous measures have been put in place, in particular the strengthening of emergency reception service teams and an increase in the hospital’s reception capacity. As a result, 19 additional beds were added this weekend. Placements in departments and types of hospitalizations have also been streamlined.
Prevention actions to take into account for the good of all
The Chicas therefore reminds you of the actions to adopt, including wearing a mask, washing your hands regularly with soap and hydroalcoholic gel. The flu and Covid vaccine are also recommended.
