A few days ago, the general director of CHR Metz-Thionville, Dominique Peljak, did not rule out the possibility of activating the white plan. The hospital had already been declared under tension since mid-November, faced with the influx of patients in the emergency departments.
This Thursday, January 9, the white plan is triggered, in a context (epidemic) of high activity observed for several days in emergency services and hospitalization capacities.
Several measures have already been activated to streamline care: reinforcement of staff, expansion of barrier gestures with compulsory wearing of masks in the establishment, use of supernumerary beds, mobilization of downstream beds and territorial solidarity supported by the ARS (Regional health agency) with other health structures in the territory.
“The mobilization of all is essential”
Activation of the white plan gives the establishment the latitude to mobilize all the resources at its disposal. “In this context, we remind the population to use emergency services wisely, to initially prioritize contact with the attending physician and to systematically call 15 before going to the Emergency Department. The mobilization of everyone is essential for proper use of emergencies,” insisted the management of the CHR Metz-Thionville.
