At the bandstand, Simona Lorencova-Bordes, director and teacher at the Catherine Schollaërt intercommunal music school, and her musical awareness class sang Christmas carols. The children, from 5 years old, sang a short musical interlude to their parents, the public and the village artisans. It was tender and moving to see these little ones and the number of smartphones in action.
This musical entertainment should not be seen as a simple coincidence: the bandstand is a sanctuary dedicated to music; it appears in the center of the Christmas village. Its creation is due to Olympe Dupas, musician, who offered free musical education to young Gourdonnais aged 7 to 15. Christmas is a time of joy and songs, it is dedicated to youth, and who could better represent the muses of Christmas than these young children.
On the other hand, it is recognized that musical awareness offers numerous advantages for the overall development of the child. It not only stimulates their creativity, but also promotes their cognitive and emotional development.
The Christmas village is open until Tuesday, December 31 and each day will bring its share of activities of all kinds.
We will also find Santa Claus distributing treats to young people, a photo required; and a makeup stand to brighten up the holidays is available free of charge.
