traders and municipal agents mobilized for Christmas decorations

« The Christmas decorations are the result of an incredible mobilization of merchants and the municipality “. This is how Jean-Louis Blanchard, president of the UCIA (Union of merchants and industrialists of Argenton), sums up the atmosphere of harmony and mutual aid in which the decoration of the city took place, at the occasion of the end of year celebrations. The latter would especially like to salute the help of the town hall services and the mobilization of municipal agents.

“There are more decorations this year”

« The agents were very present and created the structures necessary for the installation of the decorations that we purchased », underlines Évelyne Derier, secretary of the UCIA. “ It’s a pleasure to work with them, the flow goes well », adds the latter, to summarize the joint work between the traders and the municipality. The UCIA is also delighted with the light ceiling, rue Gambetta, created by the municipality.

Claudie Pasquier, deputy mayor in charge of commerce, talks about the work carried out hand in hand by the agents and members of the association, indicating that “ there were numerous consultations with traders ».

The latter also welcomed the efficiency of the technical services and their “ good team of agents “. Thanks to the expertise of two of them, specialists in wood and iron work, the town has new decorations: a small chalet, Place Carnot, made from the wood of an unoccupied stand inside of the market, giant gift packages on Place Saint-Amand and arches decorated by UCIA traders. “ There are more decorations this year but many of them were made by City agents », concludes the assistant.

A rich and varied entertainment program

The merchants, united and very mobilized this year, are organizing a raffle whose draw will take place in January. Already, a window on rue Gambetta displays all the lots provided by the traders.

The holiday program developed by the UCIA is complete, with, from Saturday December 14 to Saturday December 28, mascots, pony rides, photoboxes, face painting sessions, music, parade of old cars and the traditional Santa Claus on the roof. Without forgetting the carousel and the hot chestnuts, on the Place de la République.

Finally, a photo circuit is offered, called the “Christmas route”, going from the station to the Vieux-Pont, via rue Grande, with the idea that residents tag their photos on Instagram (#NOELARGENTON).
