From December 16 to 29, 2024, the French Blood Establishment-Occitanie (EFSO) is running a campaign in favor of children suffering from cancer: each blood donation will trigger the payment of one euro to the association Children Cancer Health.
The new blood drive, which takes place Monday December 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Nogaro in the entertainment room, participate in this campaign.
It is organized by the EFSO and the association Blood donation Nogaro Aignan (DSNA).
Rappel : blood donation, a serious matter – The sequence of the “blood donation” sequence is rigorously applied: the candidate donor receives a very detailed questionnaire which makes it possible to detect temporary or permanent incompatibilities with a donation; the questionnaire is checked during a confidential interview, either with a nurse for people aged 18 to 65, or with a doctor for those over 65, the candidate’s blood pressure is taken, a restorative snack is offered to donors, later, an analysis of the blood collected is carried out at the EFS.
The incompatibilities are of a very diverse nature. For example, temporary incompatibilities range from recent travel abroad, to anemia, to fever. Permanent incompatibilities may be linked to illnesses. In all cases, the EFS directly notifies each person confidentially if there is an incompatibility.
